The I.I.M.C. is basically concerned with mothers and children, but other patients are treated too. Consultations, medicines and nursing care are available for day clinic patients in Tegharia, Chakberia, Hogalkuria and recently in Kheadah. About 5000 patients are treated in the 4 centres every month. This work is now extended to include dental, eye and pathology units.

The indoor centre was opened in late 1995 with 15 beds. With the aid of the Japanese Government this has now been increased to 20. Patients are mainly children, malnourished or with severe skin infections, and mothers in need of antenatal care. It is hoped to develop facilities for the physically handicapped in the near future.

Each month a vaccination day is organised as well as a medical camp to a remote village with no doctor.
